My dad was speaking on the glory of God. Through worshipping God on Thursday, the phrase came to me for the blog as confirmation. An anointed man of God said the glory of God is His “goodness, presence, and His power.” Jesus walked in the glory of God. A lot of us want the signs, wonders, miracles, healing, restoration, and financial breakthrough.
However, as my dad would say “The glory comes with a price.” It requires us to come up higher in love because faith works by love, faith which comes by hearing, spending time in worship/praise; the presence of God, and prayer. It takes sacrificing our social media time, the phone, television, time, and putting people as well as things to the side to get alone with God. Jesus would get away with God often to walk in that anointing. It requires us to stay consistent until we obtain the promise. A small voice came to me: “The race is not given to the swift or the strong, but those who endures to the end will be saved.” We can do greater works than He did.
The glory of God is His goodness. He is love, The creator, The I am, holy, righteous, victorious, The Lamb, The Lion of Judah, healer, joy, The Prince of Peace, the beginning, the end, and the list goes on.
We can experience the glory of God through His word, worship, praise, and prayer.
John 1 says the word is God.
Psalm 16:10 says in His presence is fullness of joy.
Psalm 22:3 says God inhabits the praise of His people.
Psalm 34:4 says I sought the Lord, He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. James 4:8 New Living Translation:8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
We can have the glory through the power of God. Once we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior (Romans 10: 9-10), we have the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:8: 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Galatians 5:22 New Living Translation: 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Moses in Exodus 33:15-21 told God he would not leave without the favor of God and asked God “Show me your glory”. Begin each day asking God to show His glory in your life and do whatever it takes to stay in the glory.
We have heard Jesus’ story. Today God, show us your glory!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for who you are. God I ask you today to show me your glory! I thank you for your goodness, your presence, and your power operating within me. Lord, take out anything that is not like you so I can manifest heaven on earth and do greater works than Jesus did. I am a doer of the word not a hearer only. I draw near to you and you draw near to me! In Jesus name! Amen.
